Basslink: 99.9999% Uptime for Energy Trading

Basslink operates the undersea electricity interconnector between Tasmania and Victoria. They needed a system to submit financial bids to the Australian Energy Market Operator: automatically, reliably, and with zero tolerance for failure. Evocate built a geo redundant SharePoint farm with automated bidding workflows that achieved 99.9999% uptime. Less than five minutes of downtime per year. The system processes market data, generates bids, and submits them to AEMO without human intervention, because when you’re trading electricity between two states, you can’t afford to be late.
