The Partnership
Penske is one of Evocate’s longest running Microsoft delivery partnerships. The relationship spans 15+ years across Penske’s Australian, New Zealand, and Automotive divisions, and includes work across virtually every Microsoft platform Evocate delivers: SharePoint, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Purview, Azure, and the Power Platform.
What makes the Penske partnership distinctive isn’t its age. It’s the trajectory. Most long term consulting relationships taper off as the original projects complete. The opposite has happened with Penske: engagement has accelerated across recent years, with multiple major delivery streams running concurrently into 2026.
The Work
Across the partnership, Evocate has delivered:
- Penske’s SharePoint based intranet across 19 branches and 700+ staff (the original engagement that became one of our headline case studies)
- 12TB SharePoint migration across Penske Australia, Penske New Zealand, and the Automotive division, with Microsoft Purview governance built in from day one rather than retrofitted (covered separately as a deep dive case study)
- SharePoint platform upgrades including a multi sprint upgrade of the Penske Hub from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint 2016, infrastructure additions including Podium WFE and load balancer servers, and a multi stage SharePoint domain rename project
- Dynamics 365 custom development, support, and ongoing enhancement across Penske’s CRM environment under a continuous SLA arrangement
- theHub intranet build for Penske: a multi sprint development of the Foundation, Webparts, intranet pages, audience targeting, and resources site migration, currently expanding into the PenskeHub Migration sprints active through 2026
- Tenant migration work: moving APIs and workloads between Penske tenants as the corporate structure has evolved
- Cross time zone production support including weekend troubleshooting on production API issues
- Continuous SLA support running across multiple years, providing dedicated capacity for Dynamics 365 custom development, ad hoc support, and platform enhancement
Why the Relationship Endures
Penske has stayed with Evocate for 15+ years because the breadth of Microsoft delivery capability (SharePoint, Dynamics, Power Platform, Azure, Purview, custom development, infrastructure) sits in one partner who already knows the operational context. There is no time lost re onboarding consultants who don’t understand Penske’s environment. Every new initiative starts from a baseline of accumulated knowledge.
The 2024-2026 acceleration in delivery volume reflects this: when Penske decides to modernise a new platform area, the work moves quickly because the partner already understands the surrounding architecture, the stakeholders, and the operational constraints.
What This Means for Other Clients
Penske demonstrates what a sustained, multi platform Microsoft partnership looks like when it is delivered consistently. For organisations evaluating whether to engage a single Microsoft delivery partner across SharePoint, Dynamics 365, infrastructure, and ongoing custom development, or to assemble multiple specialist vendors, Penske is the long form answer to why a single capable partner wins.
