The Relationship
Micare provides aged care and multicultural community services, work where documentation, care records, and staff information have to be reliable and well managed. Evocate’s relationship with Micare started with SharePoint support and then progressed to a migration, the reverse of the usual order. Supporting the environment first gave Evocate the knowledge to migrate it confidently, which is a sensible way to de-risk a move.
The Work
- 2020, SharePoint support SLA: ongoing support for the existing environment under a defined response commitment
- 2021, SharePoint migration: moved Micare onto a modern platform, informed by a year of hands-on support
Why the Relationship Endures
In aged care, information systems sit close to the quality and safety of care, so changes have to be made carefully. By supporting Micare’s SharePoint for a year before migrating it, Evocate learned how the environment was actually used and where the sensitive dependencies were. That meant the 2021 migration was informed rather than blind. A partner who has lived in your system before moving it is far less likely to break something that matters.
What This Means for Other Clients
Micare shows the value of support-led migration: the partner who has been answering your support tickets understands your environment better than anyone parachuting in for a project. For aged-care and community-services providers, where continuity of information is tied to continuity of care, that accumulated knowledge reduces risk. Evocate’s move from SLA to migration demonstrates how an ongoing relationship makes the big changes safer.
