The Relationship
Fruit2Work is a social enterprise, a not-for-profit that needs its technology to be reliable and affordable so resources stay focused on its mission. In 2022 Evocate took on managed services as Fruit2Work’s MSP and, in the same year, delivered an out-of-the-box SharePoint intranet with data migration and staff training. The combination gave Fruit2Work both day-to-day IT support and a proper place to work, without the cost of bespoke development they did not need.
The Work
- Managed services and MSP (2022): Evocate became Fruit2Work’s managed service provider, handling ongoing IT support and operations
- Out-of-the-box intranet, data migration, and SharePoint training (2022): Evocate stood up a SharePoint intranet using proven out-of-the-box patterns, migrated existing data across, and trained staff so they could run it themselves
Why the Relationship Endures
Not-for-profits get the best value when a partner knows when not to over-engineer. Evocate chose an out-of-the-box intranet deliberately: fast to deliver, easy to maintain, and the right fit for Fruit2Work’s needs and budget. Pairing that with managed services meant Fruit2Work got a single accountable partner for both the platform and the support around it. The training mattered too: Evocate left the team able to manage their own content rather than dependent on billable hours.
What This Means for Other Clients
Fruit2Work shows Evocate tailors its approach to the organisation, not the other way around. For not-for-profits and smaller businesses, the lesson is that you can have a modern intranet and proper managed services without an enterprise budget. The relationship endures because Evocate delivered exactly what was needed and made the team self-sufficient.
