The Challenge
Elbit Systems of Australia (ELSA), a subsidiary of Elbit Systems Ltd., serves the Australian Defence Forces across battle management, network systems, unmanned platforms, electronic warfare, and electro optical targeting. Their portfolio touches some of the most sensitive defence programs in the country.
ELSA needed more than a standard intranet. They required an enterprise document management system capable of handling classified documents and submitting them to the Commonwealth of Australia (COA) through secure channels. The existing infrastructure relied on unstructured shared folders, a liability for an organisation handling defence grade information.
The Solution
Evocate delivered a purpose built Document Management System on SharePoint 2013 that replaced shared folders with a structured, browser based repository. The centrepiece: a custom classified document submission feature that automated the Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) workflow, from internal approval through to secure delivery to the Commonwealth.
