AI Agents: From Concept to Production

AI agents are not a future concept. They are available today through Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI, Power Automate and a growing range of enterprise platforms, and they are already automating meaningful work in Australian organisations.

Evocate helps businesses implement AI agents and intelligent automation that actually work in production, handling real business processes, operating within your security boundaries, integrating with your existing systems, and delivering measurable time savings.

AI Agents & Automation Consulting Australia

Service desk AI agent

Service Desk and Support Agents

AI agents that handle first-line support requests, answer questions from your internal knowledge base, triage and route tickets, escalate complex issues, and follow up on open requests, reducing helpdesk load and improving response times. Built using Microsoft Copilot Studio or Azure Bot Service, integrated with your Microsoft Teams, SharePoint knowledge base, and ticketing systems.
Document processing automation

Document Processing and Intelligence

Agents that can read, classify, extract, summarise and route documents: purchase orders, contracts, compliance submissions, client onboarding documents, incident reports and more. Connected to SharePoint, your line-of-business applications and workflow systems via Power Automate or Azure Logic Apps.
Staff onboarding automation

Onboarding and Offboarding Automation

Agents that coordinate the multi-system, multi-team process of staff onboarding and offboarding: provisioning accounts, assigning licences, triggering approvals, notifying stakeholders, and tracking completion across HR, IT and management systems. Integrates with Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID, HR platforms and your existing process tools.
Knowledge management AI agent

Knowledge and Information Agents

AI agents that give staff fast, accurate access to your organisation’s internal knowledge: policies, procedures, project documentation, product information, compliance requirements and institutional knowledge that is currently locked in SharePoint, Teams and email. Built on Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns using Azure AI Search and Azure OpenAI, connected to your SharePoint and document repositories.
Sales and customer support AI

Sales and Customer Support Agents

Agents that support your sales and customer-facing teams: qualifying leads, answering product questions, preparing briefings, summarising customer history and drafting follow-up communications.

  • Azure OpenAI Service integration and orchestration
  • Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture
  • Function calling and tool use configuration
  • Semantic Kernel and LangChain implementation
  • Custom model fine tuning for domain specific tasks
4

Agent Governance and Security

Evocate establishes governance frameworks that control what agents can access, what actions they can take, and how they escalate to humans when confidence is low or risk is high.

  • Data access controls and permission boundaries
  • Action approval workflows and human in the loop gates
  • Audit logging and conversation monitoring
  • Content filtering and responsible AI guardrails
  • Credential management and secret rotation
5

Agent Operations and Continuous Improvement

Evocate provides ongoing managed services for deployed agents including performance monitoring, conversation analytics, knowledge base maintenance, and iterative prompt refinement.

  • Conversation analytics and success rate tracking
  • Knowledge base refresh and accuracy maintenance
  • Prompt and response quality optimisation
  • Escalation pattern analysis and threshold tuning
  • New capability rollout as platforms evolve

Frequently Asked Questions

A traditional chatbot follows a decision tree and can only answer questions it was explicitly programmed to handle. An AI agent can understand natural language, reason about ambiguous requests, take actions (not just answer questions), connect to multiple systems, and handle situations it was not explicitly programmed for, within defined boundaries.
Primarily Microsoft Copilot Studio (for M365-integrated agents), Azure OpenAI with Azure AI Search (for knowledge and RAG agents), and Power Automate (for workflow integration). We also work with Azure Bot Service for more complex scenarios.
Through careful scope definition, human escalation paths, audit logging, staged rollout, and clear permission boundaries. We do not give agents write access to systems where errors would be difficult to reverse without careful review and testing.
We follow a structured approach: process mapping to understand current state and failure modes, scope definition to clarify what the agent handles vs what it escalates, security and governance design before building, pilot deployment with controlled user groups, and measurement against defined success criteria.
